Pacific Northwest Weekly Grain Summary

   Pacific Northwest Market Summary:  Cash wheat bids for December 
delivery ended the reporting week on Thursday, December 6, mixed 
compared to week ago noon bids for December delivery.  

   March wheat futures ended the reporting week on Thursday, December 6, 
higher as follows compared to week ago closes:  Chicago wheat futures 
were 7.75 cents higher at 5.1550, Kansas City wheat futures were three
cents higher at 4.9550 and Minneapolis wheat futures trended 1.25 cents 
higher at 5.6925.  Chicago March corn futures trended 9.50 cents higher 
at 3.8275 and January soybean futures closed 22.25 cents higher at 9.0950.

   Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat delivered to Portland in unit trains or
barges during December for ordinary protein trended steady compared to week 
ago prices for the same delivery period from 6.15-6.30.  Some exporters were 
not issuing bids for nearby delivery.  White club wheat premiums were zero 
cents per bushel over soft white wheat bids this week and last week.  One 
year ago bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat any protein for December delivery by 
unit trains and barges to Portland were 5.1225-5.30 and bids for White Club 
Wheat were 5.1225-5.35.  Forward month bids for soft white wheat ordinary 
protein were as follows: December 6.15-6.30, January 6.18-6.26, February 
6.21-6.30 and March 6.24-6.33.  One year ago, forward month bids for soft 
white wheat for any protein were as follows: January 5.1525-5.30, February 
5.1825-5.30, March 5.23-5.25 and April 5.23-5.25.

   Bids for US 1 Soft White Wheat guaranteed maximum 10.5 percent protein 
during December trended steady compared to week ago prices for the same 
delivery period from 6.15-6.30.  Some exporters were not issuing bids for 
nearby delivery.  White club wheat premiums for guaranteed maximum 10.5 
percent protein soft white wheat this week were zero cents per bushel over 
soft white wheat bids this week and last week.  One year ago bids for US 1 
Soft White Wheat guaranteed maximum 10.5 percent protein for December 
delivery by unit trains and barges to Portland were 5.1025-5.30 and bids 
for White Club Wheat were 5.1025-5.35.  Forward month bids for soft white 
wheat guaranteed 10.5 percent proteins were as follows:  December 6.15-6.30, 
January 6.18-6.22, February 6.21-6.25 and March 6.24-6.25.  One year ago, 
forward month bids for soft white wheat for any protein were as follows:  
January 5.1525-5.30, February 5.1825-5.30, March 5.2125-5.30 and April 
5.23-5.25.

   Bids for 11.5 percent protein US 1 Hard Red Winter Wheat for December 
delivery trended three cents per bushel higher compared to week ago prices 
for the same delivery period from 6.5550-6.6550.  Some exporters were not 
issuing bids for nearby delivery.  This week, bids were as follows: 
January 6.5550, February 6.5550-6.6050 and March 6.5550-6.6550.

   Bids for non-guaranteed 14.0 percent protein US 1 Dark Northern Spring 
Wheat for Portland delivery during December trended mixed, from 5.75 cents  
lower to 6.25 cents per bushel higher compared to week ago prices for the 
same delivery period from 6.6925-6.9225.  Some exporters were not issuing 
bids for nearby delivery.  This week, bids for non-guaranteed 14 percent 
protein were as follows:  January 6.7425-6.8725, February 6.9025-6.9125 
and March 6.9325-6.9425/

   Coarse feeding grains:  Bids for US 2 Yellow Corn delivered full coast 
Pacific Northwest - BN shuttle trains for December delivery trended 13.50 
to 14.50 cents per bushel higher compared to week ago prices for the same 
delivery period from 4.7875-4.8075.  Some exporters were not issuing bids 
for nearby delivery.  Forward month corn bids were as follows: January 
4.8075-4.8275, February 4.8075, March 4.7275-4.7775 and April 4.80-4.82.  
Bids for US 1 Yellow Soybeans delivered full coast Pacific Northwest - 
BN shuttle trains for December delivery were not available as most 
exporters were not issuing bids for nearby delivery.  Forward month 
soybean bids were as follows:  January not available.  Bids for US 
2 Heavy White Oats for December delivery trended steady at 3.7750 per 
bushel.

   Pacific Northwest Export News:  There were 18 grain vessels in Columbia 
River ports on Thursday, December 6, with four docked compared to 17 last 
week with four docked.  There were no new confirmed export sales this week 
from the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) of the USDA.
